To be thankful and express gratitude is the key to establishing emotion of happiness and goodness. When I feel thankful and grateful for things that I have, love, my family, friends, a car to get around, a great job, whatever it may be that makes me feel good, the day seems so great. Times like this are less and less these days and for that I am thankful as well because I can then see clearly where I truly want to be.
Frustration and anger is not my friend, but yet I welcome it to my thoughts daily and for this talent I am rewarded with more frustration and more agitation.
Welcoming and befriending a thought is much like welcoming and befriending a person, is it not? It's an age-old saying that birds of a feather flock together and so it goes. So to that end I look tonight at my being, who I am and I say emphatically that I have much to be thankful for.
My daughter and wife, my immediate family, is a primary source of glee and wonder. I wish the best for them today and always.
The young people that I work with at my job I praise. I love to be around their energy. They see possibilities and look at life as what is possible, not what is not, in gerneral. Their optimism is natural and doesn't need to be pulled out of them. It's there. Inherent. They WANT to believe, have hope, be happy.
I'm thankful for being able to be a part of the process.
So tonight I think about that which makes me happy and hope to feel more of that happiness in my life in general.
