(AP) - A man's stabbed to death this morning outside a methadone clinic in Pawtucket. John Duffy is accused of killing 32-year-old Ronald Leone. Pawtucket police say the fight started in a line outside a clinic where people were standing to receive a dose of methadone -- typically used to wean addicts off of heroin. They say Leone stood up for a woman who had stepped out of the line and then tried to reclaim her place. Authorities say Duffy objected, and that a fight that began in the line soon spread down the street. Duffy's accused of stabbing Leone in the head and the side. Later that day Williams said that he received a call from White stating that several of his morphine tablets were missing from the trunk of his car. He told Williams that he had just had the prescription refilled and he has hardly any left. White explained to Williams that the victim has stolen from him previously and he felt that she had done the same. Williams asked White why he kept the morphine in the trunk of his car and he stated that it was safer to keep them there since she has stolen from him before. Williams then asked if the victim has access to his car keys and he stated that all you had to do was push a button in the car and the trunk would open. The case remains open pending further investigation. An autopsy has been ordered. |
