Is The Landfill Summit A Political Fundraiser?

I would think the answer to that would be no, right?
Borough Council needs to separate the two. They are not going to attend the event to say "Vote for Bud George." They would be attending the event to say, "keep your trash out of our lives." They are clearly not separating the two. Attendance at this event is not an endorsement for any other individual or any political candidate.
As long as a council member does not not make a public statement that says "vote for (insert name here)" there should be no problem.
Council needs to stand up for the citizens they serve and look out for their wellbeing. No more weak excuses please.

Hello
While I respect Council's decision on their reasoning, I do believe that you are right in your sentiments.

Because our keynote speakers happen to be politicians and we're coming up on election time does NOT mean that this is a political event and does NOT mean we are endorsing these politicians.

It simply means they are high-profile public leaders with vast experience and knowledge of this issue and are giving their time to the people of Clearfield County because they care enough to do so.

Let us hope that our local politicians do as well and show up on the 9th to learn more.

Samuel
